Chapter 14
As my blogs are coming to an end, I sincerely hope you guys are gaining some valuable information about social media marketing. This chapter might be my favorite chapter throughout the entire semester, so today we will be talking about influencer social media marketing.
One of the reasons why this chapter is a favorite of mine is because not only does it go into dept about how impactful influencers are to social media, but it also gives you some tips and tricks on how to become an influencer yourself. For starters, let’s get a base definition of influencer marketing. “Influencer marketing is a type of marketing that focuses on using influencers to promote a brand message, product, or service to their larger market” (Charello, Chapter 14, Section 1). This has been around for quite some time, for example, different kinds of celebrities and athletes are a form of influencers for marketing. On the other hand, a social media influencer is somewhat the same but has its differences. “A social media influencer is someone who exerts his or her influence through social media” (Charello Chapter 14 Section 2). Being a social media influencer doesn’t require you to be a famous athlete or celebrity. By being an influencer, it takes to
reach, credibility, authenticity, activity, and a lot of engagement. There are many benefits of being an influence, starting off with increased exposure, brand awareness, improved search ranking, more credibility, being able to reach a target market, and conversations. By becoming a social media influencer for marketing establish goals you want to reach for certain objectives you want to complete, find the target audience, connect with other local or major influencers, set up streams, gather up partnerships, and gain some strategies for becoming an influencer. By abiding by this information, you will see yourself become a successful influencer!
