Chapter 13

Have you ever been on a social media platform and saw a company/brand use some sort of social media marketing campaign to spread awareness? There are tons of social media marketing campaigns you run across while scrolling through your favorite application. For example, watching the commercials during the Super Bowl are an example of social media marketing campaigns. Another example would be Apple and how they display to people across the world their phones technology and how great the camera quality is for the product. In today’s blog, we’ll go more in dept about social media marketing through campaigns.

For starters, lets answer the essential question “What is social media marketing campaigns”? “Like an IMC campaign, a social media marketing campaign is a coordinated social media marketing effort to communicate with a target audience to achieve a marketing or business goal” (Charello, Chapter 13, Section 1). The reason behind this is to create an idea that will peruse an attended audience to be interested in the message/product. Social media campaigns have time frames and dates, meaning some could be day-to-day or even longer. The strategy, goals, and the desired time frame is what helps make the campaign gain good milestones and build brand awareness. By creating a social media campaign, not only are you building brand awareness, you also would gain influence, costumers, consumer purchase decisions, and people recommending your desired brand/business.

There are many ways to start up a marketing campaign, but before starting one up, you must know the steps of starting on. These steps include “Establish a goal, choose a campaign theme, identify the target audience, determine a campaign budget, outline the campaign parameters, choose incentives, determine where the campaign will live, select social networks, choose a timeline, and lastly develop the campaign assets and content calendar” (Charello, Chapter 13, Section 3). May sound easy as it seems, but as you can see there are many steps to this process. By staying consistent and going strong with pushing your ideas out to the world, you will soon see yourself developing a great social media market campaign.
