    Tiktok as we all know is an entertaining app that has blown up since the Covid pandemic. Just like every other social media platform, you can use Tiktok as a promotion platform for your business or personal brand. There have been multiple social media influencers within the past 2 two years that have used TikTok to promote a business or brand that ended up making them successful. “If you were active on social media in 2020, you are familiar with Nathan Apodaca aka DoggFace, a 37-year-old from Idaho who posted a video of himself skateboarding listening to Fleetwood’s Mac’s Dreams’ while drinking Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice. The video immediately went viral, grabbing worldwide attention and putting smiles on the faces of many during a very difficult time” (Charello, Chapter 11, Section 1). With this video going viral, Nathan was able to secure an endorsement deal with Ocean Spray, made a commercial with Ocean Spray, and ended up using his fanbase to promote his own personal brand and clothing line. This displays that TikTok is a useful platform to use because Nathan created one viral video that changed his life for success.


TikTok is a social media platform that is similar to Vine. Vine was a very popular application back in 2012, where people would create six-second videos for humor, information, and entertainment. Tiktok follows that same guideline, except each video is 15 seconds long. The key to marketing through TikTok is creating engaging videos that’ll catch the eyes of millions across the world. “TikTok reports that over 63% of all videos with the highlight click-through rates highlight their key message or product within the first 3 seconds of the video (TikTok)”( Charello, Chapter 11, Section 7). Coming up with short, creative, and engaging videos to market your brand or business is a major key when using TikTok as a marketing tool. By doing so, you’ll start to notice people engaging under your videos and sharing them with


others across the world. Just like Nathan, you could end up catching the eye of many different companies that want to do joint projects and a bigger audience.
