Baby Koda
My baby girl Koda would have been 11 months today, unfortunately, she passed away a couple of months ago due to internal bleeding in the stomach. I first adopted Koda when she was 5 months old, she was found under a bridge in the winter, almost close to death. I was looking at adoption centers for dogs in the local Atlanta area and ran across Koda. She was the first puppy I looked at and immediately fell in love with her. I can tell she was super sad and went through a lot when we first made eye contact with each other. I was allowed to pet her and as soon as the employee opened the door, she ran right to my arms and wouldn't go away from me. It was almost a love at first sight thing, we connected right away, and I told the employee that I needed to take her home. After signing the papers, she came home with me for the next couple of days.
At first, I thought Koda was going to be very shy and timid around me since it was her first time being with me, but that wasn’t the case. When I brought her into my room, I had her dog bed and cage set up, she instantly jumped in bed with me and cuddled me all day. From there I already knew she was going to be attached to me. She had a bit of a potty issue at first because I put her on new puppy food, so her stomach had to adapt to the change of diet, but she was very trained after the few accidents she had. Koda was a very sweet, smart, loving, and caring dog. My favorite memory of Koda was when I came home from work one day mad and upset, I laid in bed and Koda was laying in her doggy bed. She could tell I was upset and angry because she read my body language. She looked at me wagging her tail with her little smile and hopped in bed and gave me kisses. My mood instantly changed and made my whole night. I miss Koda so much, but I know she went out knowing that I loved her so much.
